Before and After

We all know the power of makeup. I took some photos before, during, and after application of my makeup this morning! This is my most basic everyday look. Didn't do anything special... I'm only going to the car wash and Victoria's Secret today haha.

So here we go! The first photo is a blank face, second is after I did my face, and the third is after I did my eyes.

For my face, I applied my Make Up For Ever primer, Mary Kay concealer, LancĂ´me foundation, Make Up For Ever powder, and my Revlon blush.

Then for my eyes, I applied my Urban Decay primer potion, for shadows I used Suspect, Foxy, and Buck from my Naked palettes, and then finished with Make Up For Ever eyeliner #7 (the purply one), Sephora kohl liner on my waterline, and my Dior mascara.

Brushes!

Today is an AWESOME day. Despite having my car stall, losing a parking ticket, and having a migraine... my Sephora Around the World in 7 Brushes came in the mail today! They're so so pretty and soft, and the carrying case is super gorgeous.

I FINALLY got an angled blush brush which I have been meaning to get forever. The brushes are so amazingly soft I just want to rub them on my face all day. Is that weird? Anyways, here they are!

I had to steal the pics from the Sephora website as I haven't had a chance to take a photo of them myself!

The set comes with an angled blush brush, a pointed foundation brush, a flat powder brush, a small shadow brush, a crease brush, a large shadow brush, and an angled liner brush.

I think they're currently sold out on the Sephora website, but keep checking back and I'm sure they'll have them in stock. They're so pretty and soft and perfect and I suggest you guys get them!!!

Colour Wheels

Just a fun idea for nail polish organization, paint some colour wheels! Mine are purchased from, of course, Sally's and I organized them based off of brand. It's a ton of fun and makes colour selection a million times easier! Not only that, but this way you can see the actual colour of the polish on a plastic nail, because we all know that what's in the bottle isn't necessarily what will show up on your nail.

Hair Dye Day!

That dreaded time always comes when the root colour to hair colour to fade colour ratio is nearing equal... time to dye. I've had red hair for about 3 years now, went from violet > maroon > red and now it's and combination of those three. Here's what it's usually like:

While Megan and I were at Sally's yesterday, I bought some new hair dye, something I don't normally use. Typically I just use a box dye because unfortunately my bank account doesn't spare me much change for a salon dye, but at Sally's I bought two bottles of colour and a bottle of developer. I bought this colour and used this developer. I have rather long hair so I needed two bottles of colour, but I ended up having some extra unused colour after my hair was saturated. Here's my awful roots before and then while I was letting it develop:

I actually liked this dye, I wasn't 100% happy with the colour, I was hoping for more of a maroon-y colour, but it turned out to be more of a copper-y colour. Oh well, now I know for next time. Which, speaking of, we all know that red hair tends to fade rather fast, well here's a hair colour TIP: use pigment conditioner! This is a colour depositing conditioner that helps keep the vibrance of your colour alive for longer. I use the Chi Organics Tone and Shine in Red Mahogany. Once a week I'll give my hair a 30 minute treatment, and ever other time I shower I typically let it sit for about 5 minutes before I rinse it. It is honestly a life and hair saver! I can extend my hair dyeing almost 3 months longer because of it.

In the end I got a pretty red, and the more I look at it, the more it grows on me!

Nail Polish Haul!

There's this beauty supply store here in Edmonton that my best friend and I always go to called Sally's Beauty Supply Store (click here for their website). They were having a buy 2 get 1 free nail polish sale! Being a total fanatic for nail polish I took advantage of this deal. Once. Or twice.

Okay, three time.

Yes, 9 bottle of nail polish for the price of 6! (Is my math right?)

Super stoked about the purchases, I bought China Glaze's Peachy Keen, Exceptionally Gifted, Rainbow, and Prism, Finger Paints' Hue Left A Message?, and Art You Wondering? as well as Stripe Rite (?) art bottles, in colours 1, 3, and 5. I have no idea if those are the actual colour names/numbers, as I can't find anything else on the bottle. Oh well, anyways, here are some photos:

Welcome!

So I've finally done something that I've always wanted to do - start a beauty blog!

Don't criticize me too much, I'm new to this vast world of blogging, as well to the vast world of beauty. I'll admit, it's a blooming passion, but I can openly say that I am absolutely hooked! Growing up and living with my dad, I was destined by fate to be a tomboy. Soon enough I embraced femininity and all the fun that being a girl entails!

Finally, now that my first year of university has finished, I have no excuse not to begin posting! I will be posting makeup of the day, outfits of the day, currently using, product reviews, any dupes I find, tutorials and any health and wellness tips and tricks I stumble across.

I hope that you enjoy my blog and that it can help you out! Any of your own tips, tricks, submissions, (and tips for new bloggers) are seriously welcomed (and needed).

Thanks for stopping by, and stay beautiful!
